BEAUTY: MY NEUTRAL EVERYDAY LOOK!

I always had problems with a neutral look! I didn't think neutrals would look great on me. If i didn't have definition or smokiness around my eyes i didn't feel my look was complete. Who knew i would be the no eyeshadow champ all of a sudden.

Last month i was wearing my makeup and i didn't know what shadow combo to use. I decided to apply my face powder on my eyes and BAM!! I fell in love with it. This has now become my signature everyday look . It saves time on blending and mixing and matching eye shadows and reduces the time i spend on my makeup generally.

This is not to say that i am laying my cut creases to rest but when i'm in a rush this is definitely my go to look. What do you all think?

REVIEW: REAL TECHNIQUES"NIC'S PICKS" LIMITED EDITION BRUSH SET

I don't need any more brushes; says all the makeup brush addicts out there. I remember when i had like four makeup brushes and i didn't care much for it. Few years down the line i am hooked! I have more brushes than i need and i'm still eyeing the sigma sets! *coversface* Lord help me.

I was browsing the beauty revolution site a few weeks back and guys... that site is my number one stop for all the latest makeup products right now. They have everything! Limecrime velvetines, ABH Palettes, brushes, eyeshadows you name it. And their prices are the cheapest i have seen. So i was browsing the site when i purchased my Urban decay vice 3 palette and i included this in my cart. I changed my mind before i checked out (in a bid to exercise self control) and forgot about the brushes. A few days later the lovely Bukky sends me a message offering to send me these for review!! WHHHHHOOOOOPEEEEDEEWHOOOP!!! I was sooo happy!! eeeeeek!*Goodthingscometothosewhowait*

When i received the brushes i skipped to my chair and quickly opened it to feel them..Ughh let me save the gist and start this post of the right way

What Real Technique says:A collection of Nic’s favorite brushes. Complete any look with this limited edition set, featuring 3 exclusive brushes specially designed to create the perfect finish.Includes all the brushes needed to create a complete look. This limited edition Real Techniques makeup brush set offers high-definition and five brushes to perfect your face.

DazzleBeautie: The brushes are housed in a clear plastic case so you can see the beautiful brushes. The handle of the brushes are silver and shiny . This makes them look unique compared to the other individuals and sets. Included in this set are:

Duo -Fiber face brush

Cheek Brush(set exclusive)
Angled shadow brush(set exclusive)
Base shadow brush
Eyeliner brush

Duo-fiber face brush: For lightweight application + blending of face powder or pigments. I use this brush to apply my cheek highlught. The bristles are super soft and it doesn't load the product unto the skin. If you like a light wash of color at the high points of your face this is the perfect brush to help you acheive that.

Cheek brush (set exclusive): evenly applies makeup across cheekbone for a more dramatic finish. This is the blush/contour brush. The shape of this brush allows you to apply cheek contour in a a way that it could double as a contour. It sits the cheek color right in the hollows of your cheek in one sweep. My new favorite blush brush.

Angled shadow brush (set exclusive): perfectly cut for layering eye shadow in the crease. This brush fits right into the crease. All i do is press it righ in the crease socket and blend back and forth. The angled tip also helps with precise product placement.

Base shadow brush: applies a smooth, flawless foundation of color. This brush is a bigger version of the blending brush included in the starter collection. I love this brush because it blends out perfectly and leaves no harsh lines. It is also a MAC 217 dupe if you ask me.

Eyeliner brush (set exclusive): firm, angled head for optimal control along lash line. Now this brush i use to fill my eyebrows and not for lining my eyes. It is really thick and gives a super thick line especially if you are a winged eyeliner girl like me.

Overall, i give this brush set an A+. No complaints whatsoever and it is a great addition to any makeup brush kit and they look so pretty too. What do you guys think? Love it? I DO!!

REVIEW: MAKEUP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION SHADE N173

What a product hype causes!! Lord knows i didn't need any more foundation but i couldn't resist with all the hype around the MUFE! I had seen tons of reviews and youtube demos on this foundation and it did look great. That i must say. I travelled a few months ago and visited the MUFE stand and i was confused because i didn't know if i would be a shade 170 or 173. The lady at the counter tried to force the 170 on me but i just wasn't having it and she just wasn't convincing enough. I had just replaced my trusty MAC studio fix and it just felt wrong buying another foundation on the same day.#shopahlicsguilt #confessionsofaspendthrift

What Makeup Forever says: The HD range includes complexion products designed for the new needs of high definition image using very fine ingredients for an invisible, natural makeup finish.

DAZZLEBEAUTIE: Before i post a revew of  a popular product like this , I always go read a ton of reviews to make sure i'm not being too nice or harsh . This doesn't really change my opinion of that product as i realize that stuff works differently for everyone. I'm sure a tonof people will expect me to rave about this and swear on all the makeup GAWDSS!! Firstly, i noticed this is a bit on the watery side. It is a medium coverage but buildable. I like when i apply my foundation and it gives me good coverage instantly. I had to reapply in some certain places to get the amount of coverage i wanted. Also, this applies better with a flap top brush. I used a damp beauty blender with this and it just soaked up all the product.

The color match is perfect. 173 has a nice yellow undertone that suits me perfectly. I would also recommend applying this foundation under a primer like the Beautifully matte. A gel based primer not so much as this tends to get real shiny if you have already oily skin.

Honestly, i don't know how i feel about this foundation. I am not in L.O.V.E like i expected i would be.It's decent, not cheap but gets the job done. I must say it is a tad bit over rated. I don't get the hype.

What do you think guys? Do you love it or are on the fence? Let me know your thoughts.

REVIEW: BOLWIN COSMETICS LIP PENCIL IN CABERNET

Posts you draft and forget! I had been meaning to post the last product from Bolwin cosmetics i received but i had drafted so many other posts untop. I received this lip pencil in the shade CABERNET  and it has been getting a lot more attention  than my currant lip pencil.

CABERNET is a rich berry/plum color that glides on smoothly on the lips and can be worn as a lip color as the swatch above shows. The color is very rich I like pairing my pink lipsticks with a purple one for a pretty ombre effect and this works perfectly for that. The staying power is great and it does not stain even after eating or grabbing a drink.

Overall i give this pencil an A!

L.A GIRL LUXURY CREME LIPSTICK IN DREAMER

Does any one like black lipstick? It tends to be more editorial and mostly found on the pages of magazines but not anymore. A lot of everyday people are getting bolder and tapping into their inner GOTH. I always love to try out dark lipsticks but a stark black one? hmmmmm. Been on the fence for a minute.

I was sent this from yangabeauty and i was really excited. I had earlier played around with a black lip pencil but that didn't work and i honestly couldnt justify forking out N3500 to buy a black lipstick from MAC. NOOO WAY!!

What L.A Girl says : Luxury Creme' Lipstick delivers ultra rich colors in a lightweight formula. Its blend of moisturizing ingredients of aloe, shea butter & vitamin E enhances lips, leaving a smoother, healthier feel. Glides on effortlessly with the slant top, for a flawless even coverage.

DAZZLEBEAUTIE: This lipstick applies smoothly on the lips but be sure to exfoliate as it emphasizes crack lines and dead skin. As the swatch shows it is a full out black lipstick. It has some shine to it which i don't really like. I mean come on, its black already does it need all that shine? This lippie does glide on easily and two swipes gives a full rich color.

Honestly, i don't know if i can rock this one. Its a little too straight up black for me. I don't think i'm bold enough but i like that i have it in my stash in case i need it for a future shoot or  a look i'm gong for. What do you guys think?Would you rock this on a night out? I'd rather stick to my blackened plums for now.

REVIEW + SWATCHES : URBAN DECAY VICE 3 PALETTE

Hi Guys!! TGIF!
I have an exciting new post for y'all. I got the U.D Vice 3 palette a few  weeks ago and i couldn't wait to review it.

The Vice3  is the latest  palette from Urban decay and in some ways it is similar to Vice 1&2. I don't own the other ones but i'm super glad i got this. EEEEEEEK!! :D.. This palette is every makeup lover's dream! The shadows are set in a sleek , slim and compact case that houses 20 beautifully pigmented shades . It also boasts of a huge mirror for perfect makeup application. Also, can i state that U.D is probably the only makeup brand that puts in work when it comes to the brushes they include in their palettes. I love the double ended brush included. Both sides are fantastic.

U.D was sweet enough to throw in a matching makeup purse that also doubles as an ipad mini case. HOW SWEET!! It's a decent size and can hold a great number of products.Urban Decay says they spent a long time deciding the shadows for this palette. They developed 50 shades and chose the top 20.. The shades are arranged in columns, with neutrals on the left, jewel tones in the middle, and smokey shades on the right, but I will be organizing my swatches from side to side.

There are noticeably more shimmer shades in this palette than matte. No transition colors which i think every palette should have.(i mean come on throw in a warm brown in the corner) but overall a very colorful palette. You get a green, blue, pink, purple, navy blue and others.

Brief description of all 20 shades:

Truth is described as a “pale pink-nude matte
Dragon is described as a “bright metallic green shimmer.”
Vanity is described as a “smoky metallic eggplant with multidimensional micro-glitter.”
Alien is described as a “pink-peach with golden shimmer.”
Last Sin is described as a “champagne shimmer with silver micro-glitter.”
Undone is described as a “pink-beige matte-satin with subtle floating tonal pearl.”
Freeze is described as a “metallic medium blue with multidimensional micro-glitter.”
Lucky is described as a “metallic bronze.”
Alchemy is described as a “deep fuchsia satin.”
Angel is described as a “light taupe with silver micro-glitter.”
Downfall is described as a “warm light brown matte.” I
Heroine is described as a “deep navy blue with subtle floating tonal pearl.”
Reign is described as a “rich brown satin.”
Bondage is described as a “deep, smoky burgundy shimmer.”
Defy is described as a “smoky taupe satin.”
DTF is described as a “taupe matte with subtle floating pearl.”
Brokedown is described as a “metallic golden brown shimmer with gold micro-glitter.”
Bobby Dazzle is described as a “metallic white with pale gold micro-glitter.”
Sonic is described as a “metallic red-copper.”
Revolver is described as a “soft black satin with subtle floating iridescent pearl.”

This palette is a great buy. It is very versatile and a great all in one palette.I was stuck between this and the lorac pro palette but i eventually settled for this and i do not regret it. All the colors are highly pigmented with or without a primer. They blend well too. There are different textures to the shadows as well. You get shimmers, satins and some matte colors that aren't dull. Permit me to call them semi matte as i'm guessing U.D threw in just a tiny bit of sparkle in them to keep them from looking boring.(I.M.O).

Looking through the palette i realized that i don't have a ton of colors in there in my stash. The colors seem really fresh, new and different from anything i have. Overall, i am in love with this palette and if  you have been contemplating on this purhase go ahead on do it!LOL. Its  great to have as a makeup lover or a professional makeup artist

My favorite colors are: ALCHEMY,BONDAGE,VANITY,DRAGON and....... SONIC!!!! What are yours? Does anyone have Vice 1&2? What do you think of them in comparison to 3? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
